The Lord Came For Me

Oh Lord, you came
To rescue the lost, the lame
The others; they wonder how
But I wonder why

It's not my style to give it voice
The question, about Your choice
After all, You are sovereign
And I, a lowly woman

But still, the question remained
So I did what others thought insane
I read Your Holy Word to find the reason
Sure I'd find the answer in due season

As for the mystery, I've discovered why
You came into this world and died
You, God who wore human skin
Did it to make me Your next of kin

You came and died to set me free
Simply because You love me
Now I'll take You at Your Word
That my sins are covered

Knowing that when I leave
You'll be there to receive
My soul that looked to you
And trusted in all You do
